Flume and Liberty Loop is a 9.3 mile moderately trafficked loop trail located near Lincoln, New Hampshire that features a river and is only recommended for very experienced adventurers. I am so glad I read some reviews beforehand and went UP Flume and down Liberty as I'm not sure I would have been physically able to go down Flume slide trail. Parked at the hiker parking lot just past the Flume visitor center. The classic loop hike for Liberty is up the Flume Slide Trail, Franconia Ride over Flume to Liberty, then down the Liberty Spring Trail. It leaves the bikepath at the junction with the Whitehouse trail and climbs to the Liberty Springs campsite at 2.6 and then .3 miles further to the Franconia Ridge trail. The Flume Slide Trail is about 3 Miles long, and you will gain about 2,425′ of elevation. Combine the two hikes above to do a popular 9.9 mile loop hike (technically a lollipop with 1.4 mile overlap). This is a 9.8 mile loop hike with 3700 cumulative feet of elevation gain that takes about 4-6 hours to complete.
